Arthropod trackways and their preservational variants from the Bagh Formation (Upper Cretaceous), India

چکیده

Tidal siliciclastic deposits of the Turonian Nimar Sandstone (Bagh Formation), India, contain several arthropod trackways which have been ascribed to different ichnogenera by Chiplonkar and Badve (1970). Examination their type material along with additional from same allows a revision these ichnotaxa. As result, Oniscoidichnus communis Badve, 1970 is retained, ampla 1970, O. elegans robustus Dreginozoum orientale Nereites malwaensis Arthropodichnus indicus Tasmanadia sp. indet., Permichnium bosei are treated as its subjective synonyms. Their morphological differences variants trace fossils, transitions between them, resulted minor changes in behavior tracemaker, substrate properties preservation. The features point tracemaker having segmented locomotion appendages, carapace, short abdomen, was probably an isopod. Supposedly, produced associated Rusophycus ispp. A, B, cf. C, D chevron traces E. Diplopodomorpha cretaceca maintained separate ichnogenus ichnospecies being trackway unknown arthropod.

Isopod trackways from the Crayssac Lagerstätte, upper Jurassic, France

Well-preserved arthropod trackways are described from the laminated limestones of the Crayssac Lagerstätte (south-west France, Lower Tithonian). They occur in sediments deposited in the temporary coastal mudflats of intertidal to supratidal zones. The trackways are referred to Pterichnus isopodicus isp. nov., and are interpreted as the locomotion traces of isopods. Different trackway morphotype...

Upper Cretaceous Foraminifera from Japan

IN THIS PAPER the discovery in Japan of smaller Foraminifera from the Upper Cretaceous strata is recorded for the firsi: time. This contribution, in addition to its specific biostratigraphic application in Japan, has further interest by reason of its extension of the geo. graphic range ,of the widely distributed Cretaceous pelagic foraminiferan, Globotruncana. In the north Pacific region, Globo...

Reassessment of the Sauropod Dinosaur Jainosaurus (=“antarctosaurus”) Septentrionalis from the Upper Cretaceous of India

Early evaluations of sauropod diversity in the Cretaceous of India recognized three genera, “Titanosaurus,” Antarctosaurus, and Laplatasaurus, each of which was thought to have closely related species on other southern landmasses. Recent systematic work has challenged the validity of the genus “Titanosaurus” and the supposed close relationship between its constituent species, particularly those...

Algae (Dasycladales) from the Upper Triassic Nayband Formation (northeast Iran)

Dasycladales are relatively abundant in the bedded limestones of the Bidestan and Howz-e Khan members of the Late Triassic Nayband Formation in central Iran. In a locality south of the town of Naybandan (northwest of Dig-e Rostam), several Rhaetian dasycladacean algae were found in thin sections. The following taxa are described: Diplopora phanerospora Pia, Naybandoporella rhaetica nov. gen. no...
